About The Position

The University of Montana’s School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science, within the College of Health, seeks a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor for its Doctor of Physical Therapy program, with a start date of August 2027. The DPT is a fully CAPTE-accredited, 2.75-year entry-level program with 36 students per class and is the only physical therapy program in Montana. Primary duties are teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching may include required, elective, and clinical courses, as well as advising DPT students. Potential instructional needs include the Clinical Medicine series—pathophysiology, medical screening, pharmacology, and special populations—and physical therapy management coursework for musculoskeletal and complex or acute-care patient populations. Instructional load will align with the faculty member’s expertise and interests and be consistent with other tenure-track faculty of the same rank. Teaching content is negotiable, with flexibility to balance faculty interests and program needs. The faculty member will establish an active research agenda. Collaborative research opportunities are available within the School, College, and University, as well as with clinical partners and healthcare institutions. Service includes participation on department and university committees and service to the profession.
