About The Position

DRAKE UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL invites applications from entry level and lateral candidates for a tenure-track or ABA Standard 405(c) long-term contract faculty position to direct the Wrongful Convictions Clinic. The Wrongful Convictions Clinic provides meaningful experiential learning opportunities for students related to wrongful convictions and manifest injustice work.

Requirements

  • J.D. or comparable law degree.
  • Admitted, or able to satisfy the requirements for admission, to the Iowa Bar.
  • At least three years’ experience of law practice.
  • A record of academic excellence.
  • Exoneration or wrongful conviction litigation practice experience.
  • A passion for teaching.
  • A record or evidence of the potential for accomplishments in scholarship and clinical teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the Wrongful Convictions Clinic.
  • Provide meaningful experiential learning opportunities for students related to wrongful convictions and manifest injustice work.
  • Clinical teaching, professional competence and activity, research and creative work, and University and public service.
