About The Position

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine, in tandem with the Mature Women’s Health Division at Sinai Health System, are seeking applicants for the inaugural G. Raymond Chang Professorship in Mature Women’s Health. The successful candidate will be resourced to hold an academic position description of Clinician Scientist and must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor at the University of Toronto. The initial term of the Professorship position will be 5 years with the opportunity for one additional 5-year renewal, following a successful review. The G. Raymond Chang Professor in Mature Women’s Health will develop and lead research in mature women’s health (focusing on perimenopause and/or menopause), as well as provide mentorship, clinical training and foster trainee research. The role will involve active leadership, nationally and internationally, to advance research strategies addressing health concerns of mature women in this rapidly growing population. The Professorship holder will integrate, build and strengthen the existing team’s efforts, and champion collaborative and integrative research to build bridges between the Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Toronto, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Toronto, and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mount Sinai Hospital and other TAHSN partners. The Professorship holder will also collaborate with Temerty Faculty of Medicine to modernize and expand curriculum at the undergraduate level, enhance postgradate curriculum for OBGYN and Family and Community Medicine residents, and contribute to curriculum development, clinical training and research mentorship for fellows in Mature Women’s Health. At the community level, the Professorship holder will work to create a City-Wide Mature Women’s Health Consortium and explore the establishment of a publicly accessible evidence-informed virtual care platform for Mature Women’s Health.

Requirements

  • Eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor at the University of Toronto
  • Hold an MD or equivalent
  • Specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Significant expertise in mature women’s health research
  • Hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ontario
  • Hold or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications
  • Excellence in scholarly achievement evidenced by international collaborations and peer-reviewed publications in leading journals
  • Track record of collaborative science, productivity, excellence and leadership
