About The Position

Crossroads Community Church (PCA) in Somerville, NJ is seeking an Assistant or Associate Pastor of Youth and Family. This position is primarily responsible for the leadership of the Youth Ministry and being a shepherd to their families. The Pastor of Youth and Family will provide discipleship of students in 6th through 12th grade. He is also responsible for activities, policies, and procedures that relate to this area of ministry and will work with the lead pastor in the areas of preaching/teaching, care ministry, and discipleship. Requirements

Meet the qualifications for Elder/Pastor as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, and Titus 1:6-9
MA or MDiv from a Bible College, University, or Seminary holding to a Covenant-Reformed Theological perspective
Ordained, or seeking ordination, in the PCA
Must have demonstrated, developed skills in preaching and the spiritual gift of teaching
Organized, self-motivated, and able to take initiative
Able to take strategic direction from the Session and develop a program/plan
Must possess a servant's heart and a professional / pastoral attitude towards ministry

Preferred prior Youth Ministry experience

Responsibilities

Direct the youth ministry program for middle schoolers and high schoolers, which includes Youth Group and Youth Sunday School
Lead teens through the communicant membership process
Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer leaders
Develop and lead Bible studies (so that you and others can lead it)
Lead retreats, missions trips, and other activities
Incorporating youth into various church ministries
Develop relationships with parents and assist them in the spiritual development of their children by shepherding their families
On occasion, teach kids and adult Sunday school, membership class
Encourage and work with youths to live missionally in their schools and communities
Preach and teach the Word of God once a month
Assist in leading corporate worship
Provide pastoral care to the congregation, including visitation and prayer
Assist in training, counseling, and other pastoral duties as needed

Benefits

Salary will start at $80,000 based on experience and educational qualifications
