About The Position

The Assistant Coach/Associate Head Coach of Men’s Lacrosse assists with the organization and supervision of all aspects of the Men’s Lacrosse team within the parameters designated by the university, the America East Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). This role involves student-athlete development and performance, administrative functions, and promotional activities to advance athletic programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • For Asst. Coach Level: 1-3 years successful experience coaching or playing lacrosse.
  • For Assoc. Head Coach Level: 5-6 years successful experience in lacrosse coaching, recruiting and administration
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of techniques and strategies of the sport.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards and academics success.
  • Experience working effectively in diverse environments.
  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and public relations skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of student-athlete development and performance of the men’s intercollegiate lacrosse program, including organizing recruitment/evaluation, conducting and supervising practices and player conditioning, individual player development, scouting opponents, and assisting with game strategies.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and supervision relevant to the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes within the men’s lacrosse program.
  • Create a positive and productive environment for the student-athletes.
  • For Associate Head Coach Level: Serve as Recruiting Coordinator, interact with club recruiting coordinators, work with Assistant Coach on summer camp, clinic, and recruiting schedule, and act as Defensive or Offensive Coordinator.
  • Assist with oversight of administrative functions within the men’s intercollegiate lacrosse program, including participating in conference and NCAA meetings, adhering to rules/requirements, and preparing information relevant to budgeting, equipment needs, and program concerns.
  • Participate in promotional and public relations to advance athletic programs by assisting with departmental fund-raising, representing the Department of Athletics at designated functions, serving in public relations capacities, and encouraging staff and student-athletes to participate in community outreach activities.
  • Promote the University’s commitment to customer service by building effective partnerships, ensuring optimum service, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
