About The Position

We're seeking an experienced Assistant Operations Director to support and partner with our Operations Director in a fast-paced, service-oriented service bureau environment. This role blends hands-on operational leadership with strategic execution, product management, process improvement, and team support. If you're a payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement, this role offers real impact and growth. You will support daily payroll operations management and ensure timely, accurate processing; assist with implementing and improving operational policies, procedures, and workflows. Manage new products and coordinate these projects from planning through execution and communication. Assist the Director in compliance audits, and quality control initiatives. Be the point of escalation for complex client issues and challenges. Be the "Operations Director" when that person is unavailable.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of management experience
  • 5 to 7 years of payroll administration experience in a service bureau environment
  • HCM experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in excel
  • Degree in Accounting or Business Administration (or your CPP)
  • Knowledge of Payroll banking and Payroll Tax
