About The Position

The Assistant Nurse Manager position involves working weekends in a flexible capacity, from 11 AM to 11 PM. Key responsibilities include covering shifts for RN or LPN call-outs, or, in the absence of call-outs, performing audits and chart reviews. The role requires reviewing and completing S&R documentation and video reviews, handling incident reports, and serving as a liaison to hospitals and law enforcement, including communicating with law enforcement for police reports. The Assistant Nurse Manager is also responsible for overseeing staff interactions with outside entities to ensure appropriateness, providing training and supervision to weekend nurses, conducting medication education and nutrition groups, and assisting with nursing assessments. This position acts as the primary liaison with weekend Directors of Clinical Services (DOCs) to communicate process/procedure changes and training elements. Additional duties include assisting the Nurse Manager with various tasks such as resolving Smart Care errors, retraining nurses, and reviewing and approving payroll. The role also mandates working one scheduled 12-hour shift on the floor as a Charge nurse during the week.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Two years’ experience in a psychiatric or substance abuse treatment setting
  • Must be qualified in: Aggression Control Techniques
  • Must be qualified in: Use of seclusion and restraints
  • Must be qualified in: Suicide precaution measures
  • Have current CPR certification
  • Certified in First Aid training
  • Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test
  • Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record
  • CBHC New Hire Orientation (NHO) completed within first two (2) months of employment
  • Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Work weekends in a flex position, 11AM-11PM
  • Cover the shift of the call-out (RN or LPN) instead of scheduled flex shift if there is a call out
  • Work on audits & chart reviews if there are no callouts
  • Review and complete S & R documentation and video review
  • Complete Incident reports
  • Act as Liaison to hospitals and law enforcement
  • Communicate with LE when a police report needs to be made
  • Oversee staff interactions with outside entities to make sure they are appropriate
  • Provide Training/supervision of the weekend nurses
  • Conduct med education and nutrition groups
  • Assist with nursing assessments
  • Serve as Primary liaison with weekend DOCs to communicate changes in processes/procedures and other training elements
  • Complete other tasks to assist Nurse Manager as needed
  • Work with Finance team to clear up Smart Care errors
  • Retrain nurses as needed
  • Assist Nurse Manager with Reviewing and approving payroll
  • Work one scheduled 12 hour shift on the floor as Charge nurse during the week
