The Assistant Nurse Manager position involves working weekends in a flexible capacity, from 11 AM to 11 PM. Key responsibilities include covering shifts for RN or LPN call-outs, or, in the absence of call-outs, performing audits and chart reviews. The role requires reviewing and completing S&R documentation and video reviews, handling incident reports, and serving as a liaison to hospitals and law enforcement, including communicating with law enforcement for police reports. The Assistant Nurse Manager is also responsible for overseeing staff interactions with outside entities to ensure appropriateness, providing training and supervision to weekend nurses, conducting medication education and nutrition groups, and assisting with nursing assessments. This position acts as the primary liaison with weekend Directors of Clinical Services (DOCs) to communicate process/procedure changes and training elements. Additional duties include assisting the Nurse Manager with various tasks such as resolving Smart Care errors, retraining nurses, and reviewing and approving payroll. The role also mandates working one scheduled 12-hour shift on the floor as a Charge nurse during the week.
