About The Position
Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager provides hands-on clinical and operational leadership for a fast-paced medical–surgical inpatient unit. This role serves as a senior clinical resource for nursing staff, supporting evidence-based practice, patient flow, quality outcomes, and staff development. The Assistant Nurse Manager works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care—especially for complex patient populations—while supporting daily operations and maintaining strong clinical standards.
Requirements
- Current RN license (state specific)
- BSN from an accredited nursing program

- Prior inpatient or medical–surgical leadership experience
Responsibilities
- Provide visible, hands-on clinical leadership and real-time coaching to nursing staff
- Support patient throughput, including admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Promote evidence-based practice, quality, and patient safety initiatives
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to RNs and charge nurses
- Support staffing coordination and shift-to-shift continuity of care
- Partner with leadership to improve unit metrics and performance
