Assistant Nurse Manager - Anesthesiology
About The Position
The Assistant Manager, Nursing (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager in supervising and coordinating nursing services within a designated patient care area. The role plans, provides, supervises, and documents professional nursing care using the nursing process, in accordance with provider orders and established policies and procedures. The ANM helps promote quality outcomes, staff development, operational efficiency, and excellence in patient- and family-centered care. The position is 1.00 FTE, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some weekends and holidays and weekend leadership calls. Orientation to the clinical role in the department is required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program or higher.
- Current unrestricted RN license.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Two to three years of clinical nursing experience.
- Specialty experience may be required based on the unit or department, such as OR, ICU, or ED.
- Orientation to the clinical role in the department is required.
- Additional certifications, such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or CPI, may be required based on unit specialty.
Nice To Haves
- Previous leadership or charge nurse experience is preferred.
- BSN preparation is required in Magnet-designated facilities, where professional nursing practice standards emphasize baccalaureate preparation for nurse leaders, including interim roles.
