About The Position

The Cardiac Transplant Unit – Assistant Nurse Manager role is a full-time position within the University of Rochester's Cardiac Transplant step-down unit. This role supports standards of care, provides consultation and expertise in patient care delivery, and contributes to goal achievement at the service, nursing practice, and institutional levels. The Assistant Nurse Manager participates in community and professional organizations, promotes nursing's visibility, and serves as a resource and consultant. Responsibilities include human resource management, development of recruitment and retention strategies, and monitoring patient outcomes. This position may have responsibilities at the unit, program, or service level and may assume an expanded role as assigned by leadership. Requirements

  • 5 years RN experience
  • BSN required

  • Cardiology experience preferred

  • Coordination and implementation of unit-based education.
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure standards of practice are met.
  • Act as a mentor and clinical resource to unit-based staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to ensure smooth daily operation of 4-3400.
