About The Position

This position is for an Assistant Nurse Manager in an outpatient setting, specifically for the Wilmot BMT/Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapies (SCTCT) program at Strong. The role involves supporting standards of care, providing consultation and expertise in patient care delivery, and contributing to goal achievement at various levels. The Assistant Nurse Manager will participate in community and professional organizations, provide expert patient care, serve as a resource, and communicate effectively within the unit and service. Key responsibilities include managing human resources, developing recruitment and retention strategies, and monitoring patient outcomes. This leadership role combines hands-on clinical excellence with team stewardship, supporting cutting-edge treatments like CAR-T and stem cell transplants, mentoring bedside nurses, coordinating unit operations and staffing, and contributing to quality improvement, policy implementation, and patient/family education. The role requires providing direct patient care as needed, serving as a visible resource and role model, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years acute care RN experience.
  • Current RN license.
  • Required certifications per unit policy.
  • Decisive, compassionate nursing leader with strong interpersonal skills, sound clinical judgment, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology/BMT/infusion experience preferred.

  • Provides direct patient care as needed (including but not limited to chemotherapy, cellular therapy infusions, and blood products).
  • Serves as a visible resource and role model.
  • Works in close collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues, including physicians, APPS, the SCTCT infusion, apheresis, and transplant coordinator teams, to ensure seamless transitions across the care continuum.
