About The Position

The Assistant Nurse Manager in Imaging Sciences-Interventional Radiology supports standards of care and provides consultation and expertise in patient care delivery within an inpatient setting. This role contributes to goal achievement through personal action and facilitating others, and participates in community and professional organizations to promote nursing's visibility. The Assistant Nurse Manager provides expert patient care, serves as a resource, consults as requested, and communicates effectively within the unit and service. Responsibilities include participation in human resource management, development and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies, and monitoring patient outcomes. The role may have responsibilities at the unit, program, or service level and may assume an expanded role as assigned by leadership. This is a full-time position in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art environment providing specialized patient care to adult inpatients and outpatients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. The role involves pre and post-procedural care, intraprocedural monitoring with moderate sedation and anesthesia cases, and IR PACU recovery. The position requires critical thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a high-volume, high-acuity, team-oriented environment. The Assistant Nurse Manager will join the leadership team in Imaging Sciences, demonstrating the ability to develop standards of care, unit/service goals, and objectives, and provide consultation and expertise in Interventional Radiology patient care.

Requirements

  • 3 years of nursing experience
  • ICU experience preferred
  • Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to be independent in performance of duties
  • ACLS required within 1 year
  • BSN preferred required within 5 years

  • Provides IR PACU recovery post anesthesia and extended stay in the IR 23 hour unit.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop standards of care, unit/service goals and objectives and provide consultation and expertise in delivering patient care in Interventional Radiology.
