About The Position

This role is for an Assistant Nurse Manager in the Med Surg department at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN. The position is full-time, day shift. The Assistant Nurse Manager will be responsible for leading and developing nursing staff, overseeing daily operations to ensure patient access and quality clinical outcomes, delegating duties based on staff competencies, and monitoring workflows. They will also collaborate with leadership on department processes, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise nursing associates, managing recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development.
Manage daily nursing department operations to ensure patient access needs are met and high-quality clinical objectives are achieved.
Assign clinical duties based on individual staff competencies and monitor daily workflows to maintain high operational standards and job proficiency.
Partner with leadership to keep department processes up to date, while actively participating in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
