Assistant Nurse Manager – Emergency Department Location: Howard University Hospital – Washington, DC Role Summary The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) – Emergency Department supports clinical and operational leadership within a high-acuity, high-volume Emergency Department at a Level I Trauma Center . This role partners with the Nurse Manager to ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient-centered emergency and trauma care while maintaining operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and team engagement. As a frontline leader in a Level I Trauma environment, the ANM supports complex patient care coordination, rapid clinical decision-making, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to evidence-based emergency and trauma standards. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the ANM serves in a leadership capacity to ensure continuity of care and operational oversight.
