About The Position

The 4 South Medical Surgical department at St. Anthony North Hospital, an achieved Magnet® Hospital, is a 30-bed unit which treats cardiac, neuro and med-surg patients. This includes a variety of diagnoses, including CHF, COPD, Chest Pain, MI, GI bleeds, post-catheterization, TIA, TR bands, and stroke. We receive overflow from anywhere in the hospital if they have a cardiac or neuro issue, provided they meet unit criteria. As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department’s daily operations.

Requirements

  • 2 years clinical RN experience
  • A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
  • Current RN License to practice in state of employment
  • Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc.
  • Nursing Specialty Certification: Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
  • Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire/transfer into this role

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
  • Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
  • Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
  • Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
  • Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
  • Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
  • Support professional development to improve employee retention.
