Requirements

• Academic degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) required. MSN/MN preferred.
• Relevant clinical nursing experience at proficient to expert level of practice required with two years supervisory, leadership, or charge nurse experience in health care.
• Experience in Women's Services/LDRP preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of operations, including staffing, scheduling, productivity management, workflow planning and staff development.
• Proficient in use of PC-based computer software including Microsoft Office applications.
• Current applicable state RN license required.
• Current BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.

Nice To Haves

• MSN/MN preferred.
• Experience in Women's Services/LDRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides support and managerial assistance to the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily unit operations, including: Staffing and scheduling Orientation and onboarding Education and competency assessment Budget monitoring Establishing and maintaining patient care standards Promoting evidence-based practice Implementing quality improvement initiatives
• Acts as a key resource and backup support for unit staff and departmental operations
• Facilitates departmental workflow in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
• Serves as the primary resource for staff and the organization in the Manager’s absence
• Reports directly to the Nurse Manager and assists in overall department management
