This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. Lucie River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home. The fast-paced 25-bed 5NE Telemetry Unit at Martin North Hospital houses numerous dedicated caregivers, many of which have been here for more years. Many of the patients on this unit have been downgraded from the PCU. As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) on 5NE, you will provide clinical supervision and coordinate unit operations with other departmental disciplines under the direction of the Nurse Manager. With an emphasis on professional development and success, you will encourage caregivers to enhance their skills and the patient experience through improvement initiatives and incentives. 30% of your day will consist of administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, assisting with education, training and onboarding, coordinating with providers and more while the other 70% will be focused on hands-on patient care. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Two years of recent clinical nursing experience
  • Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate unit clinical operations.
  • Provide effective and efficient patient care to all ages on assigned shifts or as otherwise designated.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit caregivers and other departments/units.
  • Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts.
  • Coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues.
  • Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
  • Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and monitor attendance issues.
  • Interview, select and orient new caregivers.
  • Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
  • Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives.
  • Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs.
  • Assume responsibilities of the Nurse Manager in their absence.
