About The Position

As the Assistant Nurse Manager in our Telemetry unit, you will partner directly with the Nurse Manager to lead day-to-day operations of an inpatient care team. In this role, you will act as a pivotal mentor for RNs, coordinating complex care pathways and fostering an inclusive environment. Your leadership, in partnership with the unit Nurse Manager, ensures our patients receive the highest standard of compassionate, evidence-based care close to home. The Telemetry Unit cares for patients who require continuous electronic monitoring of their condition, including cardiac rhythm and other vital indicators, as well as patients with neurological conditions requiring close observation. Patient populations may include individuals recovering from cardiac procedures, experiencing cardiovascular or neurological complications, or requiring enhanced monitoring due to changes in clinical status. Nurses on this unit utilize advanced monitoring technology and apply strong assessment and critical-thinking skills to interpret telemetry data, recognize potential risks, and support timely clinical interventions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical RN experience required.
  • Active Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Exceptional communication, interdisciplinary conflict resolution, and the ability to organize and delegate effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in inpatient monitoring, or previous charge/leadership experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinic workflows, optimize inpatient monitoring, and manage shift staffing levels.
  • Act as an expert clinical resource, providing clinical supervision and ensuring evidence-based competencies are met.
  • Complete staff performance evaluations within 60 days of their anniversaries, coaching nurses to support professional growth.
  • Drive telemetry-specific Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives, input clinical data for policy revisions, and assist with service budget prep.
  • Champion an environment that values diverse perspectives, ensuring language and actions promote workplace inclusivity.
