About The Position

This position will be over PACU, AM Admit Holding, and Pre Admission Testing. The Assistant Nurse Manager assists with supervising and coordinating the administrative and operational activities in the assigned areas. They collaborate with the interprofessional team to ensure safe and effective care delivery while promoting a culture of excellence. This role involves leading a team of nurses and clinical support, performing managerial responsibilities 80% of the time, and providing ground support for frontline staff and assisting in direct patient care as needed. The Assistant Nurse Manager also assists with planning and supervision of unit/department goals and objectives, and maintaining department readiness for regulatory surveyors. They serve as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource, responsible for personal and professional growth and fostering an environment for interdisciplinary team members to contribute to optimal patient outcomes and grow professionally. Additionally, they are responsible for modeling core culture and safety behaviors to eliminate preventable harm and implement high reliability principles, facilitating change management, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives, and supporting the mission and vision of the organization while adhering to BSMH policies.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing (required)
  • 2 years nursing experience with 1-year minimum clinical experience in the acuity level of desired area (preferred)
  • Charge nurse or management experience (preferred)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to entering patient care setting)
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred)
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred)
  • NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (preferred)
  • TNCC Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (preferred)
  • ENPC Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (preferred)
  • National Board Certification Specialty (preferred)
  • Nurse Executive Certification or designated specialty certification (preferred)
