Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- Solid operating room nursing experience in an acute care hospital
- Prior charge nurse or formal leadership experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong communication, organization, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work onsite with flexible leadership coverage
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- CNOR certification
- Experience in a large, high-volume surgical department
- Experience with union-represented staff
- Epic electronic health record experience
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operating room operations, staffing, and case flow
- Supervise and support perioperative nurses and surgical technicians
- Ensure compliance with sterile technique, safety, and regulatory standards
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and sterile processing on scheduling needs
- Address staff and patient concerns and escalate issues appropriately
- Support hiring, orientation, competency validation, and performance reviews
- Lead quality improvement projects and track department performance metrics
