About The Position

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager within the Critical Care Service Line, the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) leads daily ICU/IMCU operations, including staffing, patient flow, service recovery, staff accountability, communication, and frontline support. The ANM maintains a visible leadership presence, removes operational barriers, reinforces department expectations and organizational priorities, and partners with leadership and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality care. This role supports progress toward key goals, including but not limited to patient experience, quality outcomes, productivity, employee engagement, throughput, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, unencumbered North Carolina or compact state RN license.
  • BLS upon hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a relevant acute care or critical care setting required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • NCI and NIH Certifications within 90 days.
  • ACLS and PALS within 6 months.
  • Previous charge nurse, preceptor, clinical coordinator, assistant nurse manager, or other demonstrated unit-based nursing leadership experience preferred.
