About The Position

The Assistant Nurse Manager of Nursing Operations will cover the Float Pool and the CMU as well as assist with coverage for all units at St. Mary's Hospital. This role assists with supervising and coordinating the administrative and operational activities in the assigned areas. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with the interprofessional team to ensure safe and effective care delivery while promoting a culture of excellence. The role involves leading a team of nurses and clinical support, supporting managers/directors on larger units, and performing managerial responsibilities 80% of the time, with ground support for frontline staff and direct patient care as needed. The Assistant Nurse Manager also assists in planning and supervision of unit/department goals and objectives, and in maintaining department readiness for regulatory surveyors. They serve as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource, responsible for personal and professional growth and fostering an environment for interdisciplinary team members to contribute to optimal patient outcomes and grow professionally. This role models core culture and safety behaviors to eliminate preventable harm and implement high reliability principles, and facilitates the implementation of change management, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives. The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the mission and vision of the organization and adheres to Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) policies, practicing and delivering care in accordance with the core concepts and intention of the BSMH Nursing Professional Practice Model.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to entering patient care setting)
  • 2 years nursing experience with 1 year minimum clinical experience in the acuity level of desired area (preferred)
  • Charge nurse or management experience (preferred)
