About The Position

Regional One Health is currently seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for our Medicine Stepdown and GICU Units. This role plans, coordinates, and supervises daily nursing activities within these units. The Assistant Nurse Manager performs professional nursing duties in accordance with established policies and procedures, plans work schedules, assigns duties to staff, and monitors workflow to ensure quality service and positive patient outcomes. This position also resolves complaints, conflicts, and operational problems to facilitate efficient patient care and maintain patient care objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Completion and graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in state of TN Upon Hire
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
  • ACLS Upon Hire
  • Minimum 2 years experience nursing experience in a Critical Care environment
  • Minimum 1 year experience supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Apprises Nurse Manager of any departmental issues, pertinent changes in internal/external market, threats, and opportunities in a timely and anticipatory manner with action plans for immediate implementation/approval.
  • Maintains awareness and ensures compliance of federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees the work of nursing personnel and instructs them in providing technical care.
  • Serves as the unit liaison and resource nurse-in-charge, exchanging information with other Charge Nurses at change of shift briefings and with physicians.
  • Contacts other services for specialized treatment, tests, facilities, equipment and material support to the unit.
  • Provides nursing care of the GICU and Stepdown patients when required.
  • Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, compliance/quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Applies cost effective measures related to budget and utilizes defined departmental procedures to allocate resources related to personnel, and supplies.
  • Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
  • Attends staff meetings, mandatory in-service, and continuing education as required.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
