As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you will provide clinical supervision to nursing personnel within diagnostic and therapeutic service departments caring for hospitalized patients, with shared responsibility for the Cath Lab, Wound Care, Infusion, and the nurses in Cardiology, Cardiac Rehab, and the CHF Educator team. Serving as a clinical and operational resource for staff, you will support daily operations and assume Nurse Manager responsibilities in their absence. You will promote professional development and lead quality improvement initiatives. With an emphasis on professional development and success, you will encourage caregivers to enhance their skills and the patient experience through improvement initiatives and incentives. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible. A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Or the American Red Cross
  • Three years of clinical experience
  • Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of ambulatory procedural settings, caring for hospitalized patients.
  • Oversee nursing personnel and patient care providers in procedural settings to ensure quality of care.
  • Anticipate and resolve patient care issues.
  • Ensure continuity of patient care by actively participating in and facilitating communication and collaboration among and between department staff and other departments re: operational issues.
  • Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
  • Provide ongoing clinical evaluation of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area.
  • Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and collaborate in monitoring attendance issues.
  • Alert Nurse Manager of significant clinical or other performance issues.
  • Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees.
  • Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.
  • Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC policies and procedures.
  • Monitor daily clinical operations of outpatient clinics (patient flow, staffing, supplies, etc.).
  • Prepare schedule of work assignment assuring adequate coverage on all shifts.
  • Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives.
  • Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs.
