About The Position

Join IU Health, Indiana’s #1 Healthcare System, as an Assistant Nurse Manager in the Emergency Department at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN! This is an exceptional opportunity to serve as a strategic leader within a dynamic, high-acuity environment supporting a 48-bed Emergency Department. Our ED is a Level 3 Trauma Center and Chest Pain/Stroke Center, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care with a focus on safety, efficiency, and compassion.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

• 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with unit Managers to develop action plans in areas including quality and safety improvements, care affordability and great patient and team member experiences
• Play a vital role on the Emergency Department leadership team, shaping the long-term vision and operational excellence.
• Support and foster a “Kinder” culture that values teamwork, respect, and compassionate care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient experience, clinical outcomes, operational efficiencies, and staff engagement.
• Lead quality and safety improvement initiatives, develop action plans, and analyze outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide clinical and operational guidance, inspiring excellence across the department.
