About The Position

This role assists with supervising and coordinating the administrative and operational activities in the assigned areas. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with the interprofessional team to ensure safe and effective care delivery while promoting a culture of excellence. This position is primarily managerial (80% of the time) with some ground support for frontline staff and direct patient care as needed. The role involves supporting managers/directors, planning and supervision of unit/department goals, and ensuring readiness for regulatory surveys. The Assistant Nurse Manager serves as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource, fostering professional growth for themselves and the team. They are responsible for modeling core culture and safety behaviors, facilitating change management, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives, while supporting the organization's mission and vision.

Requirements

• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to entering patient care setting)
• 2 years nursing experience with 1 year minimum clinical experience in the acuity level of desired area (preferred)
• Charge nurse or management experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of nurses and clinical support.
• Supports managers/directors on larger units.
• Performs managerial responsibilities 80% of time; works on ground support for frontline staff and assists in direct patient care as needed.
• Assists manager/director in planning and supervision of unit/department goals and objectives.
• Assists with managers/directors in planning and maintaining department's readiness for regulatory surveyors.
• Serves as professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource.
• Responsible for personal and professional growth as well as fostering an environment where interdisciplinary team members can contribute to optimal patient outcomes and grow professionally.
• Responsible for modeling core culture and safety behaviors to eliminate preventable harm and implement high reliability principles.
• Facilitates implementation of change management, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives in assigned areas.
