About The Position

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individual to join their team as an Assistant Men’s & Women’s Track and Field Coach (Multi-Events) on the Non-Teaching Professional staff for the Department of Athletics. HVCC, founded in 1953 and located in Upstate NY, offers over 80 degree and certificate programs and serves nearly 9,000 students. The college is a recognized leader in career and transfer preparation, workforce training, distance learning, and serving a diverse population. Requirements

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credits; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Background in track and field as a coach and/or athlete.
• Appreciation for junior college athletics.
• Sincere commitment to principles of academic/athletic integrity.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Valid New York State driver license.
• Unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in organizing and administering all facets of the Hudson Valley Community College Men’s & Women’s Track and Field program.
• Demonstrate well-rounded knowledge of track and field events and meets.
• Monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
• Assist with game day preparation.
• Plan and conduct pre-season, practice, post season, and film sessions.
• Assist with identifying, evaluating, and recruiting prospective student-athletes.
• Scout opponents.
• Report statistical and program updates as needed.
• Attend all home and away events.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
