As an Assistant Manager at Military Deli & Bakery Services, you will have the opportunity to serve our nation’s Military personnel and their families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. This is not a government job - everyone welcome! The Assistant Manager will assist the Deli/Bakery Manager in providing leadership in the department by directing and managing 5-10 employees. This role involves maintaining high levels of customer service, meeting commissary requirements, and maximizing profits. Key responsibilities include overseeing and enforcing Food Safety and Sanitation policies, managing inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering raw materials, assisting in scheduling and training employees, and delegating work assignments. The Assistant Manager will also prepare, maintain, and track records concerning inventories and work processes to calculate monthly profit, maintain a safe and clean environment, and develop professional communication with commissary management to meet financial objectives. Monitoring customer satisfaction, maintaining accurate department records, and monitoring employee morale to promote a positive teamwork environment are also crucial. This is a hands-on position where you will perform duties of staff as required.
