About The Position

The Assistant Manager position is an exciting opportunity at Surplus Furniture and Mattress Warehouse. This role is hands on, on the floor selling and learning the business.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Experience or interest in retail sales or management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commission sales experience, either managing commission sales people or personal experience
  • A proactive attitude with a desire for professional growth.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.
  • Prior supervisory or managerial experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  • Support the management team in achieving sales targets and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Participate in staff training and development activities.
  • Help oversee inventory control, merchandising, and store presentation.
  • Contribute to team leadership by motivating staff and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Learn about budgeting, payroll, and administrative tasks related to retail management.
  • Engage with customers to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support company growth objectives.
