About The Position

At Lucy's Doggy Daycare & Spa, we're seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Manager to help lead our team. If you thrive in a fast-paced, pet-friendly environment and enjoy making people (and pets) happy, we'd love to have you on board! This role involves supporting the Manager in daily operations, team leadership, customer service, facility maintenance, inventory, pet care coordination, marketing, and administrative duties. The position requires a passion for animals, leadership experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a team-oriented, growth-focused mindset. The pay is $19.00 per hour, full time.

Requirements

  • Passion for animals and comfort working with a variety of pets.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in the pet care or hospitality industry.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to think on your feet.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily schedules, coordinating staff assignments, and ensuring efficient facility operations.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring team members, fostering a positive work environment, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting team member growth.
  • Engage with pet owners, address their needs, resolve issues, and ensure clients feel valued and their pets are treated with care.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and safety of the facility, including play areas, kennels, and grooming stations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Track supplies and equipment, manage vendor relationships, place orders, and monitor inventory levels.
  • Ensure pets receive proper care for daycare, boarding, or grooming, creating individualized care plans for pets with specific needs.
  • Assist in organizing special events, promotions, and themed days, and collaborate with the marketing team to promote events.
  • Manage administrative tasks including payroll, scheduling, and reporting, and support the manager with budgeting and financial tracking.
