About The Position

Dollar Tree is seeking a Seasonal Part-Time Assistant Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role assists with daily store activities, merchandise flow and presentation, opening and closing procedures, corporate directives, ordering and processing merchandise, record keeping, loss prevention, and maintaining company standards for the sales floor and stockroom. The Assistant Manager also helps supervise, train, and develop Store Associates and supports a positive, safe, and respectful environment. The position includes maintaining store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, and trash, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address their questions or concerns.
Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor as needed, and maintain seasonal areas.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store-related communications.
Maintain the promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
Assist with ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping—including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts—and loss prevention.
Maintain the store, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, to company standards.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, and ensure store associates do the same.
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
