About The Position

Take 5 is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager to help oversee an oil-change shop and deliver a positive customer experience. The role includes leading and supporting the team, running the floor, and assuming the Shop Manager’s responsibility and authority when that manager is absent. Assistant Shop Managers also perform technician duties, including oil changes and other light maintenance services. Take 5 states that it trains employees in its procedures and welcomes people from a range of backgrounds and experience levels.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods, and to hold, grasp, pull, and turn.
• Ability to work in hot or cold weather conditions.
• Ability to remain alert and aware of surroundings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Employees are expected to develop a strong knowledge of the company’s oils and services.

Responsibilities

• Check in with customers before they leave to ensure they had a great experience.
• Assume the responsibility and authority of the Shop Manager when the Shop Manager is absent.
• Run the floor by ensuring employees are in position, vehicle checks are completed, and customers are satisfied before leaving.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with counting and adjusting inventory.
• Train and develop subordinate employees.
• Serve as a role model and hold team members accountable.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and grease chassis fittings.
• Wash windshields and adjust tire pressure.
• Inspect and top off fluids.
• Help customers select oil types and other services.
• Process payments for services performed.
• Perform coolant exchanges and transmission drain-and-fill services.
• Restock and maintain floor inventory levels.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the shop, office, and bathroom.
