The Assistant Manager will assist customers, order merchandise, and supervise clerks and other personnel. This role involves handling customer compliments and complaints, staying updated on store promotions, and reporting problems to management. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for organizing and solving problems, especially when the manager is absent, and managing special order placement, communication, and follow-up. Additionally, they will check in freight and may be required to open and close the store. Secondary functions include preparing orders, merchandising, keeping aisles clear, stocking shelves, mixing paint, cutting keys, answering the telephone, and assisting with tool assembly and repairs.
