About The Position

The Assistant Manager role involves a variety of tasks essential to the daily operation of the store. Key responsibilities include operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, taking and processing customer orders (both phone and in-person), conducting inventory, completing paperwork, and maintaining cleanliness of equipment and the facility. Essential skills for this position include strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and coworkers. The role requires the ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and make correct change. Motor coordination for precise hand-eye movements is crucial for tasks like order entry via computer keyboard or touchscreen. The job also involves significant physical activity, including standing for extended periods, walking, lifting, climbing, stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, and reaching.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instruction
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator)
  • Must be able to make correct change
  • Verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process order

  • Lifting bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds) and stocking shelves up to 72 inches high
  • Carrying large cans (3 pounds 7 ounces) and pizza sauce (30 pounds)
  • Carrying trays of pizza dough (about 12 pounds per tray)
  • Infrequently navigating stairs or climbing a ladder
  • Forward bending at the waist
  • Crouching/squatting occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas
  • Reaching continuously up and down and forward, occasionally above 72 inches
  • Hand-eye coordination is essential
  • Use of both hands is continuous during the day
  • Shaping pizza dough requires both hands and a forceful use of forearms and wrists
  • Manipulate a pizza peel
  • Frequent and/or forceful pinching is required in the folding of boxes
  • Ability to grasp cans, phones, the pizza cutter, and pizza peel, and boxes
