About The Position

This role oversees restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring high standards of customer service and profitability while adhering to company policies and procedures. The Assistant Manager is responsible for supervising shift operations, handling cash, completing opening and closing duties, managing guest comments, communicating employee issues, writing schedules, and conducting ongoing employee development and performance reviews. The position also involves maintaining performance standards, potentially managing specific departments, interviewing, hiring, and training personnel, enforcing safety and food handling procedures, and reporting claims. The role requires making appropriate decisions in a fast-paced environment and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year working in restaurant environment.
Ability to be self-starter.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Supervise shift operations.
Strictly follow company cash handling procedures.
Complete opening and closing duties.
Promptly and professionally handle guest comments.
Communicate all employee issues/complaints to management team.
Write schedules weekly.
Conduct ongoing employee development.
Conduct performance reviews on an ongoing basis.
Follow and understand company procedures at all times including crisis situations.
Maintain performance standards and motivates team through positive role modeling.
Departmental responsibilities (e.g., Bar Manager, Server Manager, Host Manager).
Interview, hire and train personnel.
Practice safe food handling procedures and enforce safety procedures in restaurant.
Understand and report Workers’ Compensation and General Liability Claims using proper procedures.
Make appropriate decisions in a fast paced environment.
