Under the direction of the General Manager, the Assistant Manager assists with overseeing and coordinating the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation. This role involves recommending wage increases and promotions, completing performance evaluations, managing employee-related issues, and planning employee work schedules. The Assistant Manager determines work techniques, supplies, machinery, and tools to be used by staff, controls the flow and distribution of merchandise, materials, and supplies, and ensures the safety of employees and property. They enforce company policies and procedures, prepare departmental budgets, and assume overall responsibility for all aspects of the department. This includes ordering merchandise and beer for the taproom, giving advice and suggestions to the General Manager, and complying with all federal, state, and city regulations. A key aspect of the role is ensuring patrons feel welcome and receive excellent customer service, and working with kitchen management to maintain food quality standards. The Assistant Manager also executes administrative and HR documentation, ensures equipment and property are kept clean and in good condition, and administers cash and receipts according to procedures. They will fill in where needed to ensure efficient operations and guest service standards are met, and perform other duties as assigned.
