About The Position

The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee whose primary function is the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, and to act as a representative to Regal in a way that is consistent with our mission statement and policies. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the theatre's facilities and equipment. The Assistant Manager is responsible for upholding all theatre policies, training and developing employees, and performing various staff positions as needed. They must also manage financial transactions, control costs, and ensure compliance with all Human Resources policies. Additionally, this role includes marketing and promotions for film engagements and ensuring the timely delivery of show times. The Assistant Manager is required to complete management certification programs and understand responsible beverage service protocols where applicable.

Requirements

  • At least three months supervisory experience, or 6 months theatre experience with completion of Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof, or, after showing potential leadership and/or management skills to theatre management, which is subject to VP approval.
  • Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcohol according to state or local laws if the theatre sells alcohol and duties include selling/serving alcohol.
  • Complete any legally required state or local training and obtain the required certificate for alcohol sales/service.
  • Complete the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training on Regal Online University.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Effective communication in both oral and written form with employees, vendors, corporate staff, etc.
  • Ability to listen effectively, respond clearly and directly, and explain information to others.
  • Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, and identify and correct errors.
  • Identify problems, gather relevant data, and note possible causes of problems.
  • Evaluate relevant information, recognize alternatives, reach conclusions based on evidence, and recommend solutions.
  • Take action beyond what is necessarily called for and perform tasks with a minimal amount of supervision.

  • Proven experience with PC platforms and knowledge of basic office programs including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Operate copiers and other office equipment.

  • Use tools and equipment with dexterity, and perform mechanical tasks as necessary.
  • Interface effectively with customers, the public, and co-workers, and exhibit sensitivity to the feelings of others.
  • Establish goals, budget time, and set priorities to achieve desired objectives.
  • Directly supervise an unspecified number of employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Regal's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees.
  • Acting as a representative to Regal consistent with the mission statement and policies.

  • Operating all projection and audio-visual equipment, including hardware, software, and film handling.
  • Ensuring required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
  • Monitoring risk management, including employee and patron safety, loss prevention, and emergency situations.
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Counting, depositing, and reconciling all receipts.
  • Controlling costs, including direct operating expenses.
  • Purchasing and ordering concession and café stock and other supplies.
  • Supervising theatre maintenance, performing minor repairs, and obtaining qualified personnel for larger concerns.
  • Marketing and promotions of feature film engagements.
  • Scheduling of movie show times and timely delivery to proper channels.
  • Administering all applicable paperwork and upholding Human Resources policies.
  • Interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, suspending, and, with oversight and HR consultation, terminating employees.
  • Reading and understanding training materials on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
