About The Position

This role involves a variety of tasks including operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, taking phone orders, inventory management, and cleaning. The position also requires delivering products to customers, which involves driving and navigating to customer locations. Training will be provided on the job, and the role requires strong communication skills for interacting with customers and co-workers, as well as the ability to train and lead others. Essential functions include accurate mathematical calculations for orders and change, computer/touch screen operation, cost control maintenance, and navigational skills for deliveries. The work environment can involve varying temperatures, exposure to food odors and dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and differentiating hot/cold surfaces. Temperaments required include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions. Physical demands include extensive standing and walking, occasional sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying of ingredients and products (up to 50 lbs), pushing trays on dollies, infrequent climbing of stairs or ladders, continuous stooping/bending at the waist, occasional crouching/squatting, and continuous reaching. Eye-hand coordination is essential for various hand tasks.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Access to insured vehicle which can be used for delivery.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Have open availability.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Ability to maintain cost controls.
  • Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area.
  • Must navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes and other delivery sites while carrying product.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Deliver product by car and then to door of customer.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.
  • Train and lead.
