About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager with day-to-day convenience-store operations and helps keep the store running smoothly across shifts. The role includes customer service and register work, team coaching and leadership, hiring and training, inventory and merchandising, scheduling, cash handling, and maintaining a clean and welcoming store. The Assistant Manager serves as acting manager when the Store Manager is off. Open availability is required, including weekends and holidays, with work primarily on second or third shifts.

Requirements

Open availability to work weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
Comfort performing cleaning and outdoor maintenance tasks, including cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining fuel-pump areas.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Proficiency in English and basic math skills.
Willingness to learn.
Must have or be able to obtain a Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate the register and assist customers quickly, accurately, and courteously.
Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service and store success.
Act as manager when the Store Manager is off.
Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
Maintain a clean and welcoming store, including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
Handle daily cash, make deposits, and oversee store financials.
Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
