About The Position

The incumbent in this position is responsible for supervising all front-of-the-house restaurant operations and employees in specified food outlet during an assigned shift and assisting in supervision of all other food & beverage outlets as needed. Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Rockford their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service. Opens and closes shift or work area at scheduled times; ensuring outlet is fully prepared for operation, as well as ensuring cleanliness and security of company assets. Maintains administrative functions, such as scheduling, time and attendance records, and appraisals to ensure appropriate staffing levels and that team members are performing duties according to established service standards. Assists in monitoring department budget to ensure efficient use of labor and other resources to achieve effective operation of the department. Monitors guest service and satisfaction by interviewing guests and by observing food ratings to make recommendations for improvement to maintain high service standards and a positive dining experience for guests. Resolves guest concerns or complaints to maintain positive guest relations. Inspect food outlet daily to ensure a safe work environment, that equipment is operating properly and that sufficient supplies are on hand to achieve smooth operation of the department. Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned. Perform work regularly and predictably. Attend seminars when needed. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Four (4) years’ dining experience
  • Minimum of two years’ Food and Beverage supervisory experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Restaurant Management or related field.
  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State and Illinois Gaming Board regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of management of a high-volume restaurant, bar, or similar business.
  • Knowledge of standard safety and sanitation practices for food and beverage service.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer systems.
  • Knowledge of various positions within the restaurant, e.g., host/hostess, dining room attendant, waitperson, etc.
  • Knowledge of food, food products, food preparation, etc.
  • Knowledge of service, service etiquette, and standard service practices for full-service restaurants.
  • Knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages.
  • Ability to present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Ability to deliver programs which create a service level of excellence for internal and external guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and outside contacts.
  • Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to act professionally with a constantly changing internal and external environment.
  • Ability to monitor and control cash flow and security of assets.
  • Ability to link scheduling to customer flow.
  • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates monitor all activity within the dining room and to inspect and maintain areas for which are responsible.
  • Ability to maintain bar operations.
