About The Position

As an Assistant Manager at Design Within Reach, you will provide leadership support to the team and the General Manager while directly supervising sales support functions. The role balances working with clients with supporting leadership and sales initiatives, coaching and training employees, and talent acquisition. In close partnership with the General Manager, you will help achieve store goals, build team and client relationships, and maximize team and individual potential to deliver performance-based results. This position reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

Ability to build relationships and trust with direct reports, peers, and store clientele.
Proficiency with MS Office software and web navigation.
Ability to routinely move objects weighing more than 20 pounds and understand safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Manage the Sales and Support team to grow the business and drive sales and results.
Direct and manage the Sales and Support teams in merchandising products for sales and visual impact each day.
Prepare and conduct team meetings and product training.
Use company platforms, tools, and resources to manage and motivate the team and drive results.
Directly manage all Sales Assistants.
Lead by example and foster a positive team culture.
Drive sales through coaching and performance management.
Ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Work with clients and support leadership and sales initiatives.
Support talent acquisition.
