The role exposes individuals to varying weather conditions, in-store temperature fluctuations, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking, hearing, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, differentiating hot/cold surfaces, and far/night vision for driving. Temperamentally, the role requires the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work independently and collaboratively, handle stress, meet quality standards, interact with people, analyze data, and make decisions. Physical requirements include prolonged standing, walking, occasional sitting for paperwork, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying various items, pushing/pulling dollies, and infrequent climbing of stairs or ladders. Specific duties involve bending, crouching, squatting, and continuous reaching. Driving for deliveries is a key component, requiring a valid driver's license, safe driving record, and an insured vehicle. Maintaining cost controls, inventory, cash control, and customer relations are paramount, along with strict adherence to all policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include staffing, paperwork, food management, working to a schedule, maintaining store image and standards, customer service, attendance, punctuality, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability.
