About The Position

The Assistant Manager role involves a variety of tasks including operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, taking phone orders, inventory management, and cleaning. Team members are responsible for ensuring the store runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to perform basic math, and excellent motor coordination. The work environment can involve varying temperatures, exposure to fumes and dust, and working in cramped quarters. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying items, pushing and pulling equipment, and occasional climbing. Specific tasks involve bending, crouching, reaching, and continuous use of hands for various manipulations. Driving to deliver products within a designated area is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Must have access to an insured vehicle which can be used for delivery.
  • Possess navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area.
  • Must be able to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks.
  • Depth perception.
  • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Far vision and night vision for driving.
  • The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgements and decisions.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Walking for short distances for short durations.
  • Lifting bulk product deliveries (cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds).
  • Carrying large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (approx. 12 lbs per tray).
  • Carrying pizzas and beverages during delivery.
  • Pushing to move trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 pounds).
  • Occasional climbing (stairs or ladder).
  • Forward bending at the waist.
  • Crouching/Squatting occasionally.
  • Reaching continuously (up, down, and forward).
  • Eye-hand coordination is essential.
  • Use of hands is continuous during the day.
  • Frequent and/or forceful use of forearms and wrists for shaping pizza dough.
  • Manipulation of a pizza peel.
  • Frequent and/or forceful pinching for assembling cardboard pizza boxes.
  • Ability to grasp cans, phone, pizza cutter, pizza peel, and pizza boxes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.
