This role involves operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, taking and processing telephone orders, conducting inventory, and cleaning the facility. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for delivering product to customers, which requires a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, access to an insured vehicle, and the ability to pass a background check. The position requires open availability and includes on-the-job training and orientation. Essential functions include accurate mathematical calculations, strong communication skills for order processing and customer interaction, motor coordination for precise movements, computer/touch screen order entry, cost control maintenance, and navigational skills for deliveries. The work environment includes exposure to varying weather conditions, temperature fluctuations, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments required include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions. Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, occasional sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying of supplies and product (up to 50 lbs), pushing, climbing stairs, stooping/bending, crouching/squatting, and continuous reaching. Hand tasks requiring eye-hand coordination are essential and performed continuously.
