About The Position

The Evening Assistant Manager of the TA Truck Service Center directs and coordinates evening operations of the truck service department by promoting a safe, efficient, and guest-focused environment. This position supports technicians and service advisors while helping ensure high-quality service, strong communication, and smooth shop operations during evening business hours.

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop environments.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations and accurately complete paperwork and computer-based tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical or truck service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Willingness to work a flexible evening schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee evening shift operations within the TA Truck Service Center.
  • Support and guide technicians, service advisors, and team members throughout the shift.
  • Help maintain workflow efficiency to minimize downtime for professional drivers and fleet guests.
  • Assist with scheduling and labor management to align with operational needs and budget goals.
  • Ensure excellent customer service is provided to all guests and drivers.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Train, motivate, mentor, and develop team members to meet company and service standards.
  • Ensure all Coffee Cup Travel Plaza and TA Truck Service policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed.
  • Monitor shop cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance.
  • Assist in safeguarding company assets, inventory, tools, equipment, and cash handling procedures.
  • Ensure work orders, invoices, inspections, and required paperwork are completed accurately and timely.
  • Work closely with vendors, parts suppliers, and internal departments to support shop operations.
  • Help minimize controllable expenses through proper inventory handling and operational efficiency.
  • Respond professionally and effectively to guest concerns and operational challenges.
  • Complete additional duties and projects assigned by the General Manager promptly, cooperatively, and accurately.
