The Assistant Manager will be a visible presence, available to team members, guests, and airport partners, monitoring team performance and operational systems, and making necessary adjustments. They will ensure positive guest service, investigate and resolve complaints within 24 hours, and strive to turn dissatisfied guests into returning customers. The role also focuses on driving sales and profitability, demonstrating adaptability to changing circumstances, and utilizing problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership in merchandising, the service industry and/or operations environment
  • Ability to work flexible shifts in a 7/365-day team-oriented environment; occasional travel as business dictates
  • Exceptional customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively using the English language
  • Self-starter able to prioritize numerous tasks and adapt to unexpected situations simultaneously
  • Proficiency required in reading, writing, mathematics, cash handling/reporting
  • Proficiency required in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to pass the Federal Criminal History Records Check, Paradies Background Check, and the applicable Department of Transportation requirements
  • Standing for long periods of time and the ability to work in environments with varying temperatures
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs., perform essential job functions such as standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, climbing a ladder, and walking long distances

Responsibilities

  • Ensure store merchandising standards are consistently executed per the company guidelines
  • Partner with the General Manager to ensure consistent implementation of organizational policies and goals, holding the team accountable to such standards
  • Influence and make recommendations to help achieve performance objectives in sales, expenses, inventory control, and payroll while monitoring overall P&L results and formulating action plans as needed
  • Train, motivate, and develop a professional team that can achieve sales goals while adhering to company performance metrics, implementing promotional programs, and coordinating special events
  • Build strong business relationships with airport management, brand partners, and the Support Center Team through clear, consistent communication
  • Monitor and address performance issues in a timely manner while providing ongoing coaching and counseling
  • Perform all basic human resource functions including interviewing, succession planning, training, scheduling, and performance reviews
  • Other duties as assigned
