Assistant Manager Restaurant

CoralTree Hospitality•San Diego, CA

About The Position

Arlo is anything but ordinary. At Arlo, great food, genuine hospitality, and a little San Diego energy come together. We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager who knows how to lead a team, take care of guests, and keep things moving when the dining room gets busy. If you are the kind of leader who can jump into the action, coach a team in the moment, and still notice when a guest needs a little extra attention, we should talk. Why Arlo? Because working in a restaurant should be about more than getting through a shift. Arlo is part of Town and Country Resort, a landmark San Diego resort with a big personality, a beautiful setting, and plenty happening around you. You will work alongside a team that cares about hospitality, takes pride in what they do, and believes that great service starts with great people. And yes, sometimes the best part of the job is a perfectly executed dinner rush followed by the realization that you actually survived it.

Requirements

  • Experienced leader who can support the staff, training and interact effectively with the team, both front and heart of the house.
  • Experience in elevated dining to allow development of the team.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day operation of Arlo.
  • Lead by example and create a warm, polished, and memorable guest experience.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop restaurant team members.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, training, and performance management.
  • Maintain high standards for service, food quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Be visible and engaged on the floor—this is a hands-on leadership role.
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, good judgment, and a hospitality-first mindset.
  • Monitor restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and safety standards.
  • Partner with Culinary and other Resort departments to ensure smooth service.
  • Help drive revenue and control labor, food, and operating costs.
  • Support compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and applicable labor regulations.
  • Step in wherever needed. Great restaurant leaders do not lead from the sidelines.
