About The Position

Summit Ridge Energy (“SRE”) is seeking an Assistant Procurement Manager to join our team. The Assistant Procurement Manager will assist with the preparation and coordination of the purchase of goods and services from external resources for the development and implementation of renewable energy projects. This position plays a vital part in the company’s overall business strategy as it requires strategic planning and analysis to acquire these goods and services in a timely manner at the best possible value. Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role or function and will bring knowledge in areas such as contract administration, renewable energy systems, engineering principles, project management processes, construction management processes, and/or electrical codes. Knowledge of renewable energy, photovoltaic, and battery storage systems is desirable, but not required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, supply chain management, or general management
  • 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in the same or similar environments
  • Solid and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the procurement process and experience negotiating contracts
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; acute awareness and ability to manage numerous deadlines
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, initiative, and creativity
  • Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems, engineering principles, project management processes, and construction management processes
  • Experience with solar energy systems or battery storage
  • Working knowledge of policies that impacts the supply chain
  • Experience with project execution processes

Responsibilities

  • Works with cross-functional teams to qualify suppliers, ensure compliance with the company’s corporate policies, contracts, and technical requirements
  • Prepare formal RFPs for equipment and assist with review & evaluation of proposals
  • Monitor and track supplier performance and contractual deliverables
  • Maintain and manage inventory levels; conduct random records/warehouse inspections
  • Coordinate and maintain supplier documentation, including but not limited to Supplier Certifications, Technical files, Safe Harbor backup documentation, Lien waivers, Invoicing, and project closings documents related to suppliers
  • Assess and analyze current market trends, risks, and prices
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors in the renewable energy industry
