About The Position

This role is responsible for researching, identifying, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials and components for new products and services. The Assistant Manager will also focus on identifying, evaluating, and selecting potential suppliers, preparing product and supplier comparisons, and negotiating terms and conditions for new products. A key aspect of the role involves preparing purchasing agreements and working closely with suppliers, engineering, and operations to ensure quality and price targets are met. The position requires staying informed about market changes affecting the supply and demand of products and materials. Additionally, the role involves inventory and demand planning to optimize inventory levels, tracking material consumption and reorder cycles, and supporting demand forecasting. Collaboration with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams is essential for resolving technical issues, supporting engineering changes, and managing new part development. Logistics and delivery management, including tracking supplier deliveries, coordinating packaging and logistics, and proactively escalating supply risks, are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, identifies, negotiates, and purchases raw materials and components for new products and services.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and selecting potential suppliers of materials, chemicals, adhesives, facing, and packaging Seeking new suppliers when necessary.
  • Preparing product and supplier comparisons; negotiating terms and conditions and awarding contracts for new products.
  • Preparing purchasing agreements; working closely with suppliers, engineering, and operations to ensure that quality and price levels are met.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in the market affecting both the supply of, and demand for, needed products and materials.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance cost and availability, Track material consumption, stock levels, and reorder cycles, Support demand forecasting using MRP/LTP systems.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams, Resolve technical issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders, Support engineering changes and new part development.
  • Track supplier deliveries and follow up for adherence to schedules, Coordinate packaging and logistics to improve efficiency, Escalate supply risks proactively
