About The Position

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking an experienced, people-focused leader to join their team as an Assistant Manager - Donor Services in Dunwoody, GA. This role involves helping to lead mobile blood collection operations and supporting the teams that bring lifesaving blood donation opportunities to the community. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment, value thorough training and consistent processes, and understand the importance of creating an exceptional experience for donors and community partners. Experience in blood banking, mobile blood collection, and phlebotomy is a significant plus, especially experience managing mobile operations teams.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of previous management or leadership experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of the management experience requirement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop employees and hold teams accountable for performance.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with employees, donors, community partners, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and prepare concise, informative reports.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain LifeSouth driver requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior mobile operations blood banking experience strongly preferred.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily mobile blood collection operations and support achievement of regional collection and recruitment goals.
  • Lead, coach, and support mobile operations phlebotomists, emphasizing accountability, development, and consistent performance.
  • Ensure team members receive detailed, effective training and are prepared to perform their responsibilities safely and successfully.
  • Monitor weekly collection and recruitment goals, identify performance gaps, and help implement solutions when goals are not being met.
  • Regularly visit mobile blood drives and collection sites to provide visible leadership and evaluate operations.
  • Maintain phlebotomy proficiency and provide hands-on operational support when needed.
  • Partner with Regional and District leadership to address staffing, performance, operational, and process-related needs.
  • Build positive relationships with donors, blood drive sponsors, community partners, and team members through excellent communication and customer service.
  • Represent LifeSouth and its mission professionally throughout the community.
  • Participate in required local, regional, manager, and corporate meetings.
  • Provide on-call leadership support as required by the position.
